Free Play gives students the option to play unassigned Banzai games and simulations, such as when they finish an assignment early. Teachers can turn Free Play on or off for individual classes, to show or hide the Free Play tab. New classes automatically have Free Play on, while existing classes automatically have Free Play off.

In the pop-up, click the Free Play for this class slider On. To turn it off, click the slider to Off. This setting saves automatically.

Note: You can also click the Class Settings icon and under Free Play, select Enable to turn it on or clear the Enable box to turn Free Play off. Don't forget to click Save Changes.
To turn Free Play on or off for all new classes:
Click My Account and select Account Settings.
Under Free Play For New Classes, select Enable to turn free play on for all new classes created. Clear Enable to turn Free Play off. This setting automatically saves.
Free Play Frequently Asked Questions
Q: If I've assigned an activity (like a game) to students, can they play that game ahead of time in Free Play?
A: No. Assignments come first. If an activity is in an assignment a student hasn’t finished, they play the assigned version.
Q: Can I restrict what Library games appear in Free Play?
A: No, students can play any Library game. But, as outlined above, if you've assigned a game, they have to play the assigned version first.
Q: Can I see what students are playing during Free Play?
A: Yes, you can see what students play on their student pages and in your Gradebook.
