How to Set Up Student Accounts via ClassLink Rostering

If your school or district uses ClassLink, you can bypass manual class codes and links. Use rostering to automatically sync your classes into the Banzai platform.

    Step 1: District Authorization

Before you can sync your classes, your district’s IT or administrator must first enable the Banzai app and authorize Rostering for your district.

If you don’t see Banzai in your ClassLink Launchpad, have your IT department or school district admin add and approve the Banzai app for rostering.

    Step 2: Teacher Login

Once your district has enabled the connection, log in to your ClassLink Launchpad. Click on the Banzai icon. Choose Sign up with ClassLink. Banzai will automatically pull in the classes assigned to you in the district’s system.

    Step 3: Automatic Roster Syncing

Once you have logged in to Banzai, you’ll see your classes appear automatically as classes in the app. Student roster (names and usernames) will be pre-populated.

Any changes made to your roster in the district’s main system (like a new student joining your class) will typically sync to Banzai automatically within 24 hours.

    Step 4: Students Join

Students simply log in to their ClassLink Launchpad and click the Banzai icon—no need for class codes or signup links. Students will be instantly logged into their student dashboard and can begin playing Banzai activities right away.

    Troubleshooting

    • Missing students? If your roster looks incorrect, check with your registrar first to make sure students are assigned to your class in the district’s Student Information System (SIS).
    • Missing app? If you can’t find the Banzai app, your district has most likely not enabled rostering for Banzai.
    • Deleted a class? If you delete a class in the Banzai platform, you’ll need to manually add it back in and ask students to sign up via email or class codes. Currently, you cannot recreate a deleted class.
    • What if my district switched from Clever/Google Classroom to ClassLink? Or vice versa? Banzai is currently building a way to switch your current account from ClassLink to Clever (or vice versa), but for now, you can deactivate your existing account and create a new one using the correct SIS.
